Streaming Online / Interactive TV Courses

About Streaming Online / Interactive TV Courses

A Streaming Online / Interactive TV course is a live classroom presentation which is streamed instantly online and also broadcast on television in partnership with the Sacramento Educational Cable Consortium, on SECC Cable 15, 16, 17 or 18.

Students may choose to attend by coming to the classroom or viewing the class at home.
Off-campus students can use our telephone conferencing technology to participate in a live class at any time.

Additionally, all Streaming Online/ITV course sessions are posted to the Streaming Archives on the web for later viewing by students. This archive is maintained as a service to students who need access to the course material for review purposes. Visit the archive for more information.

If your instructor requires you to access Desire2Learn (D2L) as part of the class:

You’ll want to make sure you have access to the Desire2Learn Sample Class, which you can access instantly.  This self-guided course demonstrates how to navigate and use many of the common features in D2L. Log in to using your student ID number and your Los Rios password. Once you’ve logged in, click on the advertisement for the sample class, located on the right hand side of the screen. Here you can enroll yourself in the D2L Sample Class (there are no fees associated with this class; “enrollment” in the class is not for academic credit). In about 30 minutes or less, you will have completed the course and familiarized yourself with the D2L learning environment.
