Faculty who are teaching online, hybrid (on-site and online), or web-enhanced (on-campus with a supplemental website) courses can request to use the Los Rios Desire2Learn (D2L) online learning management system. Courses are requested and created using an automated online process, which originates from the Los Rios Employee Self-Service (ESS) page. Courses requested are created during an automated overnight process. Students are automatically populated in the D2L course seven calendar days prior to the start of the term. Student add/drop enrollment activity is automatically handled through an overnight enrollment process so that faculty simply manage their official rosters and do not have to add students into or drop students out of D2L.
