“Activity Summary…” E-mail Problem Continues

The fix put in place earlier this week to prevent old courses from sending e-mail notifications was not successful. District IT is working directly with D2L to resolve this issue. D2L instructors and students who subscribed to notifications may continue to see multiple e-mails each day until this issue is resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience.

8/20 “Activity summary…” notification e-mails

The original fix to stop faculty and students from receiving notification e-mails from D2L courses from prior terms was not successful. However, in working directly with D2L staff, LRCCD IT staff have identified a fix for this issue and it should now be resolved.

Student rosters Connected to D2L sites for FT & 8W1

As of today, student rosters have been connected to D2L sites which were requested for the full term (FT) and first eight weeks (8W1) terms. Faculty who will be using D2L but have not yet requested a site will have their student rosters connected during the same overnight processing window as when the course is created.

“Activity summary” notification e-mails for closed D2L classes

Since the D2L system maintenance was performed on Wednesday, faculty who had activated the Notifications tool have been receiving e-mail notifications for prior semester courses. The e-mail subject reads “Activity summary for [Course Name].” Activity summaries are not supposed to be sent when the course end date has been reached. District IT is aware of this bug and working to put a fix in place as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience.
